How is your week going? Good, I hope. 🙂
According to cognitive researcher George Lakoff, we think in metaphors; it is the only way we can think. Life as a road, a path, a way is a metaphor we instantly grasp.
The Bible says, “The road of life winds upward for the wise…” and sometimes the road gets pretty steep, doesn’t it? But we press on.
We journey on, we choose one road or the other, we are progressing along a path toward a destination. Here are a few quotes from Lao Tzu, who lived long, long ago in China. He spoke of the Tao, the path, or “the way the world works.”
“The tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.” (so I posted some of my favorite pictures of paths)
And don’t rush, as Lao Tzu said,
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
